JIM AND HELEN STEINKAMP |
Jim and Helen Steinkamp are using their experience and gifts to help guide and support Relationship 180 because of their gratitude for the help they received in their adjustment as “retreads” - mature remarried adults. After long term marriages and raising families, both Jim and Helen lost their spouses and subsequently met and married in 2000. They credit the Relationship 180 material in books and seminars for introducing them to powerful insights and tools that have helped them in their marriage and with their adult children and grandchildren. Jim and Helen share 4 married adult children and 6 grandchildren.
Jim grew up in Southern California working with his dad in the homebuilding industry. He has over 50 years of experience, working for many years as a construction manager for major builders such as Richmond American and Lennar. For thirty three years Jim was a devoted husband to his wife Sally, raising their daughters in South Orange County. He has long-term ministry experience as a small group leader, former deacon and is now training to serve as a Stephen’s minister in his church. Jim brings great compassion, wisdom and practical problem solving skills to the Board.
Helen served with her husband Jack for over twenty years in ministry work with Campus Crusade for Christ and in pastoral work with several major churches. They raised their daughter and son in Placentia until Jack’s death in 1993. After running her husband’s business for several years, Helen moved to South Orange County where she joined with others in founding Marketplace Women of Orange County and serving for 3 years as Women’s Ministry Director in her church. Helen has a Masters in Communications from Cal State Fullerton and has done post-graduate work in Communication at USC.
